Finally completed my first A4 abd here she is, the very first one, Gresley's answer to the Germans Diesel 'Hamburgers' a beautiful wonderful solution, the was and still is the envy of the world. This is the very first that anyone outside Darlington Yard saw of the A4's, eventhough this livery never made entry into service, its breathtaking style, was simply stunning. My intention with the A4's will sound quite boring, so I won't elaborate at this point, but I intend to complete many variations of these Ladies'

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactFirst of all, I'd like to thank you for dedicating this image to me and I'd like to say what a beautiful drawing this is. The overall shape and lines are spot on, as is the majority of the detail. My only areas of 'gripe' are the cylinder cock drain pipes, top of the tender and the rear tender frames. Initially, the A4's (up to mid-1937) were constructed with the central cylinder cock drain pipes running inside the bogie, hence there were only two sets on the outside as opposed to three. This can be seen on 4489 in her current condition. The top of the tender should have a noticeable 'kink', in line with the bottom of the cab roof. The 'kink' should be easily replicated by a darker shade of the silver livery to it's top. The rear tender frames and running plate simply do not stretch far back enough, creating elongated buffers and an elongated corridor connection.
Overall 5* and with those minor changes, she'll be pretty much perfect! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt="
